Black cloud

By carlos amorales at the philadelphia museum of art.

Women, women, women....

These 2 pieces were drawn at the last Drawing class i went to. There was something samey about her poses so i took that time to try to define her form a bit better. As you can see i usually avoid faces as i have a tendency to make them look flat and the also samey. But again something else to work on. Funny how starting a blog makes you more aware of what needs to be done to improve your art, than probably art school/class alone does. I guess like a journal, where you write down your thoughts and thus go more into them, a blog forces you to show your work and thus justify or not justify them.
Either way, off to Philly today on a day trip, so you may get a quick pic of the Frida Kahlo exhibit i am off to see, and maybe some local renditions of her work by your truly.

Two more drawings.

A couple of weeks ago i posted a picture based off a photograph that i enjoyed in a magazine. I have since then purchased more magazines of that same type and produced first a quick color study of one of them... such as the pic on the left, and then last night i decided to tackle a slightly more complicated pose with the pic in the right. I also decided to practice the rendering techniques that many years of HS/College drawing classes taught me and emphasized in me. I hope it meets with everyone's tastes, but if it doesn't well...... tough. I enjoyed making and showing these two pieces. And you'll probably see more in this vein in the weeks to come.

Ps: I'm very proud of the way the feet and hands came out on the right. They're not perfect, but they're definitely better than what i would usually tackle. I'm thinking of doing a series of feet drawings, since they are so hard to do. Practice, practice, practice makes perfect!

Not ready for her close-up!

Been working on a tiny test of animation, but my program keep fraking
with me. Shot about 6 sec of animation today and can only see 3 sec.
Bummer. Once I get it all worked out you'll get to see it.
