Of things cute and rolling

Liam and I were talking last night and we (it seems like always) were thinking up titles for as yet not made B-movies. Though he came up with some awesome ones that I wish I could take credit for, I fell in live with this series:
VAMPIRE BUNNIES FROM MARS!!! Movies 1-5.
And now i have to make the poster for these. It will be fun, bright, have bunnies, and scantily clad women. If you can help me think of some tag lines for them, i will be more than happy to incorporate them into the design.

Another thing that keeps popping into my mind is my former team/members. It seems that even though I may not always have been happy with my league, the experiences I had with my teammates and the whole rollerderby experience will always stay with me. I just have to figure out a way to use it. That sounds weird, but I mean if people, places, and events keep running through your mind, you have to expunge them. I tried doing a rollerderby drawing, but that wasn't enough. Maybe another movie poster? Maybe I just need to skate more? Who knows. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know. If you want to go skating around the city, also let me know. I would love the company.

Because it's been a while...

Haven't scanned anything, nor drawn anything of note. But I liked
these from this summer's drawing class. I want to draw a Batman
picture. Any suggestions?

Veteran's day a week late!

Happy veteran's day! Saw this drive by my house over veteran's day
weekend. It is as real as it gets driving down the street.

The stage is set!

So after much hair pulling and hand wringing, I have finally built my
stage. It's not pretty, but definitely practical. Motion tests soon to
come. Any suggestions for simple actions?

Craft Magazine

So I noticed this magazine before, but thought it too expensive. This
week I got it as my treat. In it they have an article about this woman
Patricia Waller who does these kind of crochet things. Thought it was
so cool I had to show it to all of you. If you want a link to more of her stuff go to:

Testing testing 123

Just seeing if this works.

So the drawing Continues....

Last week in drawing class, we had a very skinny boney dancer that at first exited us with her poses and angles, but eventually bored us by doing the same 3 poses for the last hour of class. In that eventual boredom i noticed a friend sitting very casually with his feet up and loose hand over his page. Relaxed as he drew. And i thought it was a refreshing site too see since when you look around class, everyone has such an intense, determined, focused look in their eyes, that it seems to suck the fun out of drawing.
After class we had a very interesting chat over his chill attitude, and it was explained to me that during his actual working hours, he is very tense and basically only speaks in curt curses. That sounds funny to see as well.
The middle color pose is me trying not to get bored over one of the same later poses, so ignoring it and coloring a previous sketch that i had done of her. I am trying not to be afraid of possibly fucking up a good drawing by trying to make it better. It happens, and i just need to be able to deal with it.

As I was walking home late at night....

I saw this image in a window. And i thought of the Halloween parade that had just gone by, and the fact that i still love playing with my Barbies (and buying them) and thought why not. So i took the picture and here it is. If I could figure out how to post from my phone it would have been up the next day. Though having blogger post it sideways is really interesting. Do you think the dolls are at the moment right before they fall to their death? or are they doing a Batman-esque climb DOWN the wall? You tell me.

New Year, New Blog

For some people Halloween is considered a sacred day. A time when the divider between the Real World and the Spirit World is removed and people can move between the two easily. For me it is a time of renewal. A new year. A time in which I can start the habits that most people ask for on the New Year. It is my way of trying to guarantee that what I wish for on January 1, 2008 comes true.

In the past I had three blogs. Two public, one private. It was dividing my passions, so that different people would only see one side of myself. I think it had to do with the roller derby thing of having a derby persona and a real persona. I didn't want them to collide. What ended up happening was that in trying to divide myself up, I ignored all three blogs as a hassle. Who really spends their day saying, today I am only this? For two hours I am only that? This on the other hand is the exact opposite. I will put all of my passions on here, so if you see drawings, you'll know why. If you see photos of puppets, you'll know why. If you see only writing, you'll understand better. On certain days I may only post a picture of something weird and interesting I saw while I was out, or not. This will be the public me, which is all of me.

I hope that you all enjoy it. If you see something you like, tell a friend. If you see me ignoring an interesting thread, let me know. I'll pick it up and weave something new with it. And maybe, just maybe, together (public and private, voyeur and exhibitionist) we can create something unique and interesting. I hope this is a great new beginning for all of us.

Namaste
